project zimbabwe-sustainable aid for those less fortunate

We recently returned from our March 2010 trip up to the Reflections Baptist Church near Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, we noticed a huge change in Zimbabwe since we last visited in November 2009. The shops are well stocked and fuel is available, the people are super friendly and are getting on with rebuilding their country in a very positive way! The road to the church was a tough one as you can see by the pictures, the Land Rover had no problems but we were a little worried about Dave’s Polo, however the little car didn't put a foot wrong, and made it all the way to the church without incident! (For those of you looking to buy a 4×4, I can highly recommend the Polo!). We arrived at the church and were greeted by Pastor Juma and a congregation of smiling happy faces! The people up here are really positive about rebuilding their country and we have decided that we would like to set up sustainable projects with them such as teaching the women how to sew, the men a little motor mechanic skills and how to grow crops using little amounts of water! We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in Zimbabwe with these humble people and look forward to or next visit!

Every few months some of us from the Rosebank Union Church in Hurlingham get together and deliver an aid/care package to the Reflections Baptist Church headed by the local Pastor, Juma, which is near Gweru about an hour north east of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe . We have an upcoming trip from the 20th to 22nd March 2010 where we will be taking food parcels, books, clothes and soap to help over 80 families who have nothing left but their faith, they are trying to rebuild their lives, and donations, no matter how small make a huge difference to these families. Some of them old and young walk up to 30km on a Sunday morning just to come to Pastor Juma's church, we deliver the goods to the church on the sunday morning and it is an extremely humbling experience to be involved in something like this! If you are able to donate any old clothes, books or would like to make a small R10 donation to this extremely worth while cause, please contact us below, your help is greatly appreciated!
